After five years of service, Dmail Network, a decentralized communication platform, has announced it will permanently shut down all operations on May 15, 2026. The decision comes after months of strategic evaluation, driven by unsustainable infrastructure costs, a broken economic model, and a prolonged downturn in the cryptocurrency market. The remaining team described the closure as "the outcome we least wanted to see, but also the most responsible choice for our users, the community, and ourselves."
High Costs and Failed Monetization
According to the official statement, Dmail Network struggled to maintain the high expenses required for decentralized bandwidth, storage, and computing resources. Despite experimenting with multiple commercialization paths and paid subscription models, the project never achieved a sustainable business loop. The native token failed to gain large-scale adoption, and the broader crypto bear market made it impossible to secure additional funding or find a suitable acquirer. User Action Required: Export Data Before May 15

Users are urged to log in and export all email content, Non-Fungible Token (NFT) domains, and points before the shutdown deadline. Once all nodes stop running on May 15, all data will be permanently erased with no possibility of recovery. The team recommends migrating emails to traditional platforms like Gmail or alternative decentralized storage solutions to avoid loss.
