Crypto trader Doctor Profit said he has exited all of his cryptocurrency short positions, including one Bitcoin short opened in the $115,000-$125,000 range, another Bitcoin short built in the $79,000-$82,000 range, and more than 100 altcoin shorts opened over the past several months. He said all of those positions delivered large profits. The trader also said he re-entered spot Bitcoin at $64,000, describing it as his first long-term allocation since September 2025. He laid out a buying plan that would see him deploy 5% of his intended capital each day while Bitcoin trades between $54,000 and $64,000, for as long as 20 days, with larger purchases if the price moves closer to $54,000. Doctor Profit said the market is showing clear herd behavior, arguing that investors who were previously bullish at higher levels and targeting $150,000 are now broadly waiting for Bitcoin to fall to $40,000-$50,000 and treating September or October as the bottom of the four-year cycle. He said that when too many investors look for the same price range and timing, the market may not follow that script. He also withdrew his earlier call for Bitcoin to drop to $40,000-$50,000, while keeping all of his S&P 500 shorts in place because he believes crypto has already repriced significantly and U.S. equities still look expensive.

According to ChainCatcher, crypto trader Doctor Profit said he has closed all of his cryptocurrency short positions, including a Bitcoin short opened in the $115,000 to $125,000 range, another Bitcoin short built in the $79,000 to $82,000 range, and more than 100 altcoin shorts opened over the past several months. He said those positions all produced large profits.

He also said he bought spot Bitcoin again at $64,000. He described the move as his first long-term allocation since September 2025.

Spot Bitcoin buying plan

Doctor Profit said he plans to deploy 5% of his intended capital each day when Bitcoin trades between $54,000 and $64,000, for up to 20 days. If the price moves closer to $54,000, he said he will increase the pace of buying.

View on current market behavior

He said the market is showing clear “herd behavior.” In his view, investors who had previously turned bullish at higher levels and were calling for $150,000 are now broadly waiting for Bitcoin to fall to $40,000 to $50,000, while treating September or October as the bottom of the four-year cycle.

Doctor Profit said that when a large number of investors wait for the same price levels and the same time window, the market may not move as expected. On that basis, he said he chose to start building positions earlier and believes the bottom in this cycle could arrive earlier than the broader market expects.

Why he turned buyer again

He listed regulatory clarity, infrastructure for asset tokenization, and progress in institutional adoption as structural reasons behind his shift back to buying. He also withdrew his earlier forecast that Bitcoin would fall to $40,000 to $50,000.

Even so, he said he is still holding all of his S&P 500 short positions because he believes the crypto market has already gone through a significant repricing, while U.S. equities still carry elevated valuations.
