Elon Musk’s return to the DogeFather image drew fresh attention across crypto circles, but Dogecoin still slipped to $0.09315, with trading data showing steady activity rather than strong buying.

Dogecoin failed to rally after Elon Musk revived his “DogeFather” persona on X. Instead, DOGE fell to $0.09315 in the latest session, down 2.62% on the day, after slipping from a recent high near $0.0958. The move kept the token on a soft short-term trend despite heavy online attention.

Musk’s post featured a stylized image of himself holding a Shiba Inu, bringing back the DogeFather branding he used in 2021. The image spread quickly across crypto social channels and reignited discussion around Dogecoin. Price, though, did not follow the same script seen during earlier hype-driven runs.

Social Buzz Returns, but Price Stays Weak

Back in April 2021, Musk used the DogeFather identity ahead of a major public appearance. That stretch was followed by a surge that helped send Dogecoin to its all-time high of $0.7376 in May 2021. This time, market conditions look very different, and the token showed no comparable upside response.

Intraday trading reflected that softer tone. DOGE briefly tried to recover and posted higher lows early in the session, but the rebound lost strength before it could build. Sellers regained control and pushed the price back toward the $0.093 area, leaving the short-term setup tilted toward pressure rather than reversal.

Market Cap and Volume Show Measured Participation

Dogecoin’s market capitalization stood near $15.76 billion, broadly in line with the weaker price action. Its 24-hour trading volume reached $1.31 billion, down a slight 0.15%. Activity remained steady, but the numbers did not show the kind of aggressive buying that usually accompanies a sharp breakout.

The volume-to-market-cap ratio held at 8.31%, pointing to moderate liquidity. Traders were still active in DOGE, yet the flow looked controlled rather than enthusiastic. Attention was clearly present; conviction was harder to spot.

DOGE-1 and X Money Talk Add Narrative, Not Momentum

Musk’s post also sparked speculation about possible ties to future developments such as X Money. No confirmation linked the DogeFather image to any product rollout, and that lack of direct information limited the market impact.

He also referred to SpaceX plans to send Dogecoin to the Moon through the DOGE-1 mission, adding another familiar theme to the DOGE story. Alongside that, Musk commented on Bitcoin, describing energy as a form of value tied to production and noting Bitcoin’s fixed-supply model. Even with those talking points in circulation, Dogecoin’s immediate price reaction remained muted.
