Dogecoin fell about 1.7% over 24 hours, broke below short-term support at $0.1254, and briefly touched $0.1233 as liquidation pressure and weak risk appetite weighed on meme coins.

Dogecoin (DOGE) fell from $0.1271 to $0.1250 in the 24 hours ending Jan. 23, a decline of about 1.7%. Selling pressure pushed the token below short-term support at $0.1254, and the move sent price down to a session low of $0.1233 before it settled back near the $0.125 area.

Heavy U.S. session volume drove the breakdown

The drop came as broader crypto markets weakened again and liquidation activity picked up. Risk appetite faded across high-beta tokens, and meme coins were among the harder-hit segments. In DOGE, market activity was elevated rather than quiet, pointing to active positioning changes instead of simple investor disengagement. The key move took place during the U.S. session, when trading volume jumped to 556 million tokens, roughly 124% above the 24-hour average, accelerating the slide to the intraday low.

Bearish structure remains intact below $0.126-$0.127

Technically, DOGE continues to show a sequence of lower highs and lower lows, leaving the broader structure tilted to the downside. Resistance is now concentrated in the $0.1260 to $0.1270 zone, where sellers have repeatedly capped price over recent sessions. On shorter timeframes, DOGE did attempt a rebound, rising from $0.1245 to $0.1253 late in the session and briefly breaking above the intraday downtrend line on a burst of volume.

That bounce did not carry very far. Price slipped back toward $0.1250 and moved into consolidation, suggesting the rebound was driven more by short covering than by fresh buying. Momentum on higher timeframes remains weak, while shorter charts are beginning to show oversold conditions. That mix often leads to uneven consolidation instead of an immediate reversal.

Traders are watching the $0.123-$0.124 zone

As long as DOGE stays below $0.126 to $0.127, rallies may continue to attract sellers. If the token holds the $0.124 to $0.123 range, sideways trading and base-building remain possible. A clean break under $0.123 would put $0.12 and $0.115 back into focus. For the tone to shift in a clearer way, DOGE would need to reclaim $0.126+ and hold above it, something it has not managed since the breakdown.
