DOGE trades near $0.114 as analyst warns a break below the descending channel's lower trendline would confirm extended downtrend. Crypto-wide $1.7B liquidation cascade adds pressure, with capital rotating out of meme assets.

Dogecoin (DOGE) has slipped back into a danger zone, with technical analysts warning that one more stumble within its grinding downtrend could transform controlled weakness into a sharp sell-off. The token traded near $0.114 at press time, down over 3% in the past 24 hours, with market cap falling to roughly $16.6 billion and daily volume around $2.0 billion, per CoinMarketCap.

Analyst flags descending channel risk

Crypto analyst KrissPax, in a recent TradingView update, said DOGE “remains weak and could extend its already intense downtrend if its price fails to recover.” He traced the pattern to October 10, 2025, when DOGE “recorded one of its largest single-day price crashes, falling from above $0.26 to below $0.10 before quickly recovering” — a shock that has defined the current descending channel. Every subsequent push toward the upper band met supply, keeping “selling pressure intact and preventing the DOGE price from building sustained upward momentum.”

Without a “solid bullish catalyst,” KrissPax cautioned that a breakdown from channel support could trigger another “price crash.”

The level that "has to hold"

On higher timeframes, the analyst highlighted a fragile base forming around $0.12–$0.14, roughly the midline of the channel. “A clear break below the lower trendline would confirm the continuation of Dogecoin’s prolonged downtrend,” while only “a breakout above the upper trendline with volume confirmation could invalidate DOGE’s bearish structure.”

Spot prices are already below that band, putting the midline to the test.

Macro backdrop and capital rotation

The move comes as broader crypto markets digest a fresh deleveraging event: a $1.7 billion liquidation cascade wiped out leveraged positions across the board in under 24 hours. Bitcoin hovered near $82,197, with a 24-hour high around $84,000 and low just above $80,000 on $81.6 billion turnover. Ethereum changed hands near $2,800, down roughly 6–7% over the same period.

Dogecoin’s weakness fits the risk-off backdrop, as traders rotate out of high-beta meme assets into more liquid majors like BTC and ETH. For now, DOGE’s chart is less about upside targets and more about survival: if the current band fails, the structure starts to resemble not a consolidation but a prelude to another “price crash” of the kind that has repeatedly blindsided late-cycle meme-coin buyers.
