DogeOS, an application layer for Dogecoin built by the team behind the MyDoge wallet, opened its public testnet on Wednesday, giving developers an EVM-compatible environment to build apps using DOGE. The network is designed as a zero-knowledge rollup that settles its state to Dogecoin, with DOGE used for transaction fees. That setup lets developers already working across Ethereum and other EVM chains use familiar tooling while targeting the Dogecoin ecosystem. The project also named several teams building on the testnet, spanning DeFi and games. Those include Barkswap for liquidity, Superposition Finance for lending, Derps for perpetual futures, Split Markets for options, and USDoge, described as a CDP stablecoin. DogeOS also referenced launchpads, a prediction market aggregator, and several games, though it said availability will depend on each team’s schedule. There is still no mainnet date. Founder and CEO Jordan Jefferson told The Block that Dogecoin does not currently verify DogeOS zero-knowledge proofs directly. For now, the bridge relies on valid proofs, signatures from a majority of DogeOS validators, and a trusted execution environment signer, while the network uses a permissioned sequencer.

DogeOS, an application layer for Dogecoin built by the team behind the MyDoge wallet, opened its public testnet on Wednesday, giving developers an EVM-compatible place to build applications for DOGE.

Public testnet goes live

According to Unchained, DogeOS is a zero-knowledge rollup that settles its state to Dogecoin, with DOGE used to pay transaction fees. Because the network is EVM-compatible, developers already building for Ethereum and other EVM chains can use the tools they already know.

Jordan Jefferson, founder and CEO of DogeOS, said the testnet gives builders a place to turn ideas for Dogecoin into working applications. He said, 「Today marks the beginning of Dogecoin’s evolution from asset to ecosystem.」

Teams building on the testnet

DogeOS named a group of teams already building on the testnet. They include Barkswap, described as a liquidity engine; Superposition Finance for lending; Derps for perpetual futures; Split Markets for options; and USDoge, a CDP stablecoin.

The company also pointed to launchpads, a prediction market aggregator, and several games. It said product availability will depend on each team’s schedule.

Support from the Dogecoin Foundation

Timothy Stebbing, director of the Dogecoin Foundation, backed the project in the announcement. He said, 「L1 ledger purity must stay intact while we introduce utility one layer above, and that is what DogeOS represents to me.」

No mainnet date yet

Dogecoin itself does not currently verify DogeOS’s zero-knowledge proofs. Jefferson told The Block that the bridge instead requires valid proofs, signatures from a majority of DogeOS validators, and a trusted execution environment, or TEE, signer. The network also runs a permissioned sequencer.

That setup could change if Dogecoin adopts OP_CHECKZKP, a proposed opcode introduced in July 2025 that would allow the network to verify zero-knowledge proofs natively. The upgrade has not been implemented.

On the mainnet timeline, Jefferson told The Block, 「We’ll share the mainnet timeline as we reach the next development milestones.」

Funding and market data

DogeOS raised $6.9 million in May 2025 in a round led by Polychain Capital.

DOGE traded near $0.096 on Thursday morning, up about 2.6% over 24 hours, according to CoinGecko.
