The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has officially initiated the OneCoin Cryptocurrency Remission Program, offering compensation to investors defrauded by the platform between 2014 and 2019. The United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, which prosecuted several OneCoin-related cases, will distribute net proceeds from criminal forfeiture to eligible victims.

OneCoin Fraud Recap

From 2014 to 2019, OneCoin co-founders Ruja Ignatova and Karl Sebastian Greenwood orchestrated a massive international cryptocurrency investment scheme. Through aggressive marketing of a fake digital asset, they lured victims worldwide, causing substantial financial harm. Subsequent criminal forfeiture actions by the DOJ created the funding pool now available for restitution.

Eligibility Criteria

Investors who purchased OneCoin between 2014 and 2019 and sustained a net loss (after accounting for any completed withdrawals or collateral recoveries) may qualify. Submission of a petition does not guarantee payment. Importantly, the DOJ and its remission administrator charge no fees for filing, and victims need not hire an attorney to participate.

Application Process & Required Documentation

Claimants must submit a completed petition form along with supporting evidence of losses. Forms can be filed online or by mail through the official portal: www.onecoinremission.com. Other contacts include phone 1-833-421-9748, email info@OneCoinRemission.com, and mailing address: OneCoin Remission, c/o Kroll Settlement Administration LLC, P.O. Box 225391, New York, NY 10150-5391.

Supporting documents—such as bank transfer records, transaction screenshots, and account statements—are required to verify each claim. Victims who do not wish to participate need not take any action, but they will forfeit any potential compensation.
