Dragonfly partner Haseeb Qureshi said in a post on X that Robinhood Chain’s recent changes appear to be a deliberate strategy rather than a mistake. According to him, after Robinhood raised the chain’s gas limit and lowered user fees, on-chain revenue fell noticeably. Even so, decentralized exchange trading volume remained strong and currently ranks behind only Solana.
Qureshi argued that Robinhood is not trying to maximize short-term sequencing revenue. Instead, he said the company appears focused on expanding on-chain capacity, bringing more tokenized assets onto the chain, and increasing the overall scale of economic activity taking place on blockchain rails. In his view, that goal requires a larger network capacity paired with consistently low transaction costs.
The remarks frame Robinhood’s latest chain-level adjustments as a capacity and growth play, with fee compression accepted as part of a broader push to grow its on-chain ecosystem.

Rather than optimizing short-term sequencing revenue, he said Robinhood is placing more weight on expanding on-chain capacity, bringing more tokenized assets onto the chain, and increasing the scale of economic activity on blockchain.
He added that reaching that goal requires expanding network capacity while keeping transaction fees low.
