Dunamu, the parent company of South Korea’s largest digital asset exchange Upbit, is looking outside its home market for growth, according to CEO Oh Kyoung-suk. Speaking at Korea Blockchain Week on Sept. 30, Oh said the company wants to connect South Korea’s digital asset ecosystem with global financial markets.
Dunamu is also planning to work with Naver Financial to provide shared infrastructure for banks, brokerages, payment firms, and fintech companies. The services under discussion include trading, custody, asset transfers, and anti-money laundering support.
The companies’ planned share swap is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year. That timeline is still subject to review by South Korea’s Fair Trade Commission, and the deal could be delayed.
