According to TechFlowPost, on June 18, Elon Musk replied to a community question on social media about when China will reach the Fable level of artificial intelligence. Musk's answer was succinct: “Probably Q1.” This brief remark suggests that China's AI capabilities could achieve the Fable benchmark in the first quarter of next year.

Earlier, X user Teortaxes had posted an analysis stating that GLM 5.2 currently lags behind frontier models by about seven months, with overall performance roughly at the Opus 4.7-4.8 level. Meanwhile, Mythos reached a Preview state in early February 2026, and the complete PRC Mythos (codenamed “Fable”) is expected to launch between November and December 2026. This forecast provides context for Musk's latest comments.
