Eric Trump repeated his view that bitcoin will eventually reach $1 million, speaking at the World Financial Forum held at Mar-a-Lago. In an interview with CNBC, he said he has never been more bullish on bitcoin, and never been more bullish on cryptocurrency overall.

Trump, the younger son of President Donald Trump, described bitcoin as “one of the greatest performing asset classes” of the past decade. He pointed to its price history to support that case: about two years ago, bitcoin was near $16,000, while more recently it has traded around $70,000. That move, in his view, supports the idea that bitcoin is still in the early stages of a much larger climb.

Earlier forecast missed year-end level

In August 2025, Trump, who called himself a “bitcoin maxi,” said bitcoin would reach $175,000 before the end of the year and later rise to $1 million. CoinDesk data shows bitcoin closed 2025 at about $88,750, after dropping sharply from an all-time high above $126,000 in early October.

He also argued that bitcoin has gained roughly 70% annually on average over the past decade, framing that track record as hard to match across other asset classes. Trump acknowledged volatility, but said large price swings come with assets that carry substantial upside.

Bitcoin remains below key price level

His comments came as bitcoin traded just under $67,000. The asset had failed to reclaim $70,000, a level it has not revisited since Feb. 15.

The World Financial Forum event on Wednesday was tied to World Liberty Financial, a crypto-focused venture backed by the Trump family.
