Eric Trump said American Bitcoin, a Bitcoin mining company tied to the Trump family, now holds more than 6,500 BTC. Based on the figures he shared, that places the company as the 17th largest public corporate Bitcoin holder globally.
Trump posted the update on X on March 4, 2026. He said American Bitcoin accumulated more than 500 BTC over the past 21 days. The post included the line, “More updates coming!” and a photo of Trump celebrating inside a mining facility with rows of server racks and a U.S. flag in the background.
More than 500 BTC added in three weeks
The disclosed numbers show a concentrated buying stretch over the past three weeks. With holdings now above 6,500 BTC, American Bitcoin has expanded its public Bitcoin treasury again. The announcement also served as a public display of the company’s accumulation strategy.
Trump family crypto footprint keeps growing
The report describes American Bitcoin as part of the Trump family’s broader push into crypto. The company listed on Nasdaq in 2025 through cooperation and merger activity involving Hut 8 and other firms. Eric Trump serves as co-founder and chief strategy officer, while Donald Trump Jr. holds part of the equity.
American Bitcoin’s stated strategy centers on increasing its Bitcoin holdings rather than focusing only on hash rate expansion. That approach differs from some competitors that have shifted toward AI computing. Separately, the company recently announced the purchase of 11,298 new ASIC miners, a move it said is expected to raise its self-owned hash rate by about 12% and strengthen domestic Bitcoin mining infrastructure in the United States.
