The European Securities and Markets Authority updated its register of non-compliant crypto-asset service providers on Aug. 21, and the latest figures show a striking concentration in one country. Of the 167 entries currently listed, 165 were submitted by Italy’s Consob, accounting for 98.8% of the total. The data points to a sharp imbalance in how MiCA rules are being enforced and reported across the European Union. The register was created under Article 110 of MiCA. So far, only Italy, the Netherlands and Slovakia have submitted entries, while 24 member states, including Germany and France, do not appear in the register. ESMA said the list is not exhaustive and reflects only information that has been notified by national authorities. It also warned that the absence of a platform from the register does not mean it has been authorized or that it is safe. The update was cited by Techub, referencing Spaziocrypto.

According to Techub News, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) updated its register of non-compliant crypto-asset service providers on Aug. 21. The register shows that 165 of its 167 entries were submitted by Italy’s Consob, equal to 98.8% of the total, highlighting a clear imbalance in MiCA enforcement across EU member states.

The register was established under Article 110 of the Markets in Crypto-Assets framework, or MiCA. At this stage, only Italy, the Netherlands and Slovakia have submitted records, while 24 member states, including Germany and France, do not appear.

ESMA said the list is not exhaustive and reflects only information that has already been notified by national authorities. A platform not appearing on the register should not be taken to mean it has been authorized or that it is safe. The report cited by Techub referenced Spaziocrypto.
