According to ChainCatcher, data from Coinglass shows that the current 8-hour average funding rate for ETH across the network is -0.0012%. The figure reflects the average funding-rate level recorded for ETH perpetual contracts over the current 8-hour funding period.
Rates differ across major exchanges
Among the major exchanges listed in the data, Binance reports an ETH funding rate of -0.0059%, OKX reports -0.0061%, and Bybit reports -0.0035%. All three of these exchanges are currently showing negative funding rates for ETH. Gate, by comparison, is showing a positive ETH funding rate of 0.0014%.
In perpetual futures markets, the funding rate is a periodic payment mechanism between long and short accounts. A negative rate means shorts pay longs, while a positive rate means longs pay shorts. The figures above only describe the current funding-rate readings recorded by Coinglass and do not constitute trading advice.
