Etherealize has closed a $40 million funding round to build Ethereum-based infrastructure for institutional finance, underscoring growing interest in blockchain systems tailored to Wall Street use cases. The round was led by venture firms Electric Capital and Paradigm.
Capital to Fund Trading, Settlement, and Privacy Tools
According to the company, the fresh capital will be used to advance several core initiatives. These include developing zero-knowledge privacy infrastructure for trading tokenized assets, building a settlement engine designed for institutional workflows, and creating applications for tokenized fixed-income markets. The strategy centers on using Ethereum’s programmable architecture to modernize parts of traditional financial infrastructure.
The new financing follows an earlier grant awarded in 2024 by Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and the Ethereum Foundation. Etherealize said those initial funds helped launch operations and support educational outreach aimed at improving the financial sector’s understanding of Ethereum.
Team Blends Wall Street and Ethereum Expertise
Etherealize was co-founded by former Wall Street trader Vivek Raman and former Ethereum Foundation research lead Danny Ryan, with Ethereum veterans Grant Hummer and Zach Obront also part of the founding team. The company’s thesis is that Ethereum can serve as a core infrastructure layer for upgrading legacy financial systems.
Etherealize argues that Ethereum already processes the majority of stablecoin volume and tokenized real-world asset activity, reinforcing its role in institutional blockchain adoption. Since launching in January 2025, the company says it has engaged with numerous banks and asset managers. It has also taken part in policy discussions, including testimony on the CLARITY Act before the House Financial Services Committee.
