Ethereum L2 Reduces Transaction Fees to Below 1 Cent
At the recent CoinDesk Consensus conference in Toronto, Ethereum Foundation member Josh Stark and Paul Brody, global blockchain leader at Ernst & Young, responded to community skepticism regarding the network's leadership and development roadmap. They emphasized that the maturity of Ethereum's Layer 2 (L2) networks has driven transaction fees down to below one US cent, countering claims that Ethereum has lost its competitive edge.
Addressing Price Decline and Developer Exodus, Foundation Highlights Innovation
Despite recent declines in Ether (ETH) prices and some developer migration to competing platforms such as Solana, Stark and Brody painted an optimistic future for Ethereum. They stressed the network's continued innovation in decentralized applications, smart contracts, and the expanding L2 ecosystem. They believe the market will eventually recognize Ethereum's fundamental value. Concurrently, the Ethereum Foundation is undergoing a leadership restructuring to better concentrate on long-term strategy and solidify the network's core position in global blockchain infrastructure.
