The Ethereum staking market is experiencing a rare supply-demand imbalance. The number of ETH queuing to join the PoS network has surpassed 3 million, hitting the highest level since July 2023. At the same time, the exit queue has completely emptied, signaling strong long-term holding sentiment.
Staking Queue Exceeds 3M ETH, Wait Time Stretches to 53 Days
Data from validatorqueue.com shows roughly 3,068,886 ETH are currently waiting to enter the validator set. Under the current churn limit of 256 ETH per epoch, the estimated activation wait time for new stakers has extended to about 53 days and 7 hours. New validators must wait nearly two months to become active. The influx underscores strict supply control under the PoS mechanism, making it difficult to quickly absorb new demand.
Exit Queue Cleared, Selling Pressure Minimal
In stark contrast, the queue for exiting staking is now completely empty. This suggests virtually no large-scale withdrawal activity, with stakers leaning towards long-term holding. Short-term selling pressure remains limited. Market participants view this structure as a vote of confidence in Ethereum's mid-to-long-term value and network security.
BitMine Adds 580K ETH in a Week, Leading the Wave
The staking surge is primarily driven by institutional players and Ethereum treasury firms. Notably, BitMine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) has staked approximately 1,838,003 ETH, valued at around $5.9 billion at current prices. That represents a significant portion of its total ETH holdings of about 4.2 million (roughly 3.48% of total supply). In the past week alone, BitMine added over 580,000 ETH to its staking position, becoming a key force behind the queue growth.
With the staking queue full and the exit queue empty, the market views this as a positive signal for Ethereum's network security and long-term value. As more ETH is locked in staking contracts, circulating supply contracts, supporting price stability and decentralization. Whether this dynamic will lift ETH's price remains to be seen.
