Ethereum is nearing the $2,480 resistance zone, putting short-term market direction back under close watch. On the daily chart, ETH has built a gradually rising base since February and now shows an ascending triangle, a pattern many traders read as a bullish setup. The immediate question is whether price can secure a strong daily close above that ceiling.
ETH had already pulled back once from the $2,400 area after the TD Sequential sell signal reappeared, and that signal had previously coincided with a retracement phase. That warning has not disappeared from the market’s view. Even so, Ethereum has reclaimed its 100-day simple moving average, a technical level often associated with improving sentiment and a stronger case for continuation in the current rebound.
$2,480 becomes the market’s near-term decision point
Price structure suggests buyers have regained some control, but the earlier sell indication is still limiting aggressive bullish positioning. A decisive move through $2,480 could reinforce upside momentum in the near term. Failure at that level would keep attention on another rejection, making the resistance zone the main trigger for Ethereum’s next short-term move.
Ethereum Foundation puts $1 million behind smart contract audits
At the same time, the Ethereum Foundation has introduced a $1 million security audit subsidy program. The non-profit has supported Ethereum core development, governance efforts, and ecosystem growth since 2014. The new initiative is designed to make professional smart contract audits more accessible, cutting one of the most significant costs that teams face before launching Ethereum-based projects.
High-quality audits are widely treated as essential for protocol resilience, yet many development teams have continued to cite affordability as a major obstacle. According to the Foundation, the subsidy will support a broad range of projects across different stages of development and will involve leading audit providers. Named participants in the broader effort include Nethermind and Chainlink Labs, under the Trillion Dollar Security Initiative.
The Foundation said lowering access barriers to professional audits should help more ecosystem participants obtain reliable security services and improve smart contract quality. By funding subsidized reviews, it aims to reduce vulnerabilities and push developers to place more weight on security as network usage rises and applications become more complex. Ethereum is now dealing with two parallel tests at once: whether price can clear $2,480, and whether the ecosystem can strengthen long-term reliability through coordinated security work.
