Ethereum ecosystem research group EthLabs has shared a new progress update, saying it is continuing to develop an asynchronous interoperability framework based on zero-knowledge technology with the goal of improving cross-chain bridge security. The team also said latency from Ethereum L1 to L2 networks could be further reduced through a Fast Confirmation Rule, or FCR. On the organizational side, EthLabs reported that it has received more than 300 job applications and plans to expand its team to around 10 people in the near term, with a medium-term target of roughly 20. The group added that its current fundraising round is close to completion. After receiving initial backing from BitMine, SharpLink, and Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin, EthLabs is now looking to bring in the final one to two anchor investors.

EthLabs updates market on zk interoperability and fundraising

Ethereum ecosystem research organization EthLabs said it is continuing to move forward with an asynchronous interoperability approach built on zero-knowledge technology. According to the update, the effort is aimed at improving the security of cross-chain bridges, an area that remains central to broader multi-chain infrastructure discussions across the Ethereum ecosystem.

At the same time, EthLabs said latency between L1 and L2 networks could be further improved through the Fast Confirmation Rule, or FCR. The team presented this as a potential path to making interactions between Ethereum mainnet and layer-2 systems more efficient while preserving the security priorities of the broader architecture.

On hiring, EthLabs said it has already received more than 300 applications. The organization plans to expand to about 10 people in the near term and increase headcount to around 20 over the medium term, indicating that both research and execution capacity are being scaled alongside product and infrastructure development.

EthLabs also said its current financing round is close to being completed. After securing initial support from BitMine, SharpLink, and Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin, the team is now seeking the final one to two anchor investors to join the round.
