Etoday, a South Korean economic and industry news outlet, and blockchain and digital asset media platform Nexblock said on Sept. 2 that they have signed a memorandum of understanding with global Web3 data platform RootData covering blockchain and digital asset data and content cooperation.
The partnership is intended to give users in South Korea easier access to a range of global Web3 industry data, including project information, fundraising activity, investment institutions, token unlock schedules and market attention metrics. The parties said they will examine whether RootData’s existing Web3 datasets can be linked with the content and data services provided by Etoday and Nexblock.
Data coverage and service linkage
RootData is a global platform that provides blockchain industry data on Web3 projects, investment firms, financing rounds, token unlocks and project attention. Through the agreement, Etoday plans to use RootData’s datasets to reinforce the data foundation behind its blockchain and digital asset coverage.
Nexblock, for its part, said it will review in phases how specialized Web3 content and data services could be connected across project information, investment trends, token unlocks and market trends.
Testing comes first
The two sides said they will first conduct a data linkage test based on RootData’s Web3 data to determine which data items and service formats are valuable for Korean readers and users. Any expansion in the scope of the cooperation will be considered later, depending on the outcome of the test and market response.
What each side said
Etoday Vice Chairman Lee Jong-jae said, 「The Korean Web3 market is seeing growing demand for data-driven content that can systematically track global projects and investment flows. Through cooperation with RootData, we will introduce a range of data-driven content to help Korean readers understand global Web3 industry trends more easily.」
RootData co-founder YuBo Pan said, 「South Korea is one of the core markets in the Web3 industry and also an important region in RootData’s future market expansion strategy. We expect that our partnership with Etoday and Nexblock will bring RootData’s accurate and comprehensive data to the Korean market and allow us to provide better services to Korean users and partners.」
Next steps under the MOU
The parties said the MOU will serve as a starting point for exploring how blockchain and digital asset industry data can be applied. They also plan to discuss a wider set of cooperation options, including data-driven content, project information services, market analysis and joint promotion.
