Euronext has suspended trading in CoinShares’ Zcash exchange-traded product on the day it was due to begin trading on Euronext Paris. In a notice issued Wednesday, the exchange operator said the CoinShares Zcash ETP, ticker ZCSH, was suspended until further notice, without giving a reason in the filing itself. A Euronext spokesperson later told Cointelegraph the move was tied to operational settlement requirements and will stay in place until standard settlement operations can be fully supported by the Central Securities Depository, or CSD. The delay pushes back what would have been the fourth Zcash-based ETP listed in Europe. Earlier Zcash ETP launches in the region this year came from 21Shares, Virtune and Valor. CoinShares had announced the planned Euronext Paris launch earlier the same day. Cointelegraph said it contacted the issuer for comment but had not received a response by the time of publication.
Euronext suspended CoinShares’ Zcash exchange-traded product on Wednesday, the day it had been scheduled to start trading on Euronext Paris.
In a notice released Wednesday, the exchange operator said the CoinShares Zcash ETP, trading under the ticker ZCSH, was suspended from trading on Euronext Paris until further notice. The notice did not state why the decision had been made.
Flavio Bornancin-Tomasella, Euronext’s press and communications manager, told Cointelegraph that the suspension was due to “operational settlement requirements.” He said the measure will remain in place until “standard settlement operations can be fully supported by the Central Securities Depository (CSD),” and added that the action was strictly limited to settlement operations.
The suspension delays what would have been the fourth Zcash-based ETP to list in Europe. Other firms that launched Zcash ETPs earlier this year include 21Shares, Virtune and Valor.
CoinShares had announced earlier on Wednesday that it planned to launch its ZCASH ETP on Euronext Paris. Cointelegraph said it contacted CoinShares for comment, but had not received a response by the time the report was published.
