San Francisco-based Evercoin, a mobile-first non-custodial wallet and cryptographic asset exchange, announced today that it has secured $1 million in pre-seed financing. The round was led by gumi Cryptos Capital, with participation from an all-star cast of blockchain and open source pioneers including Roger Ver (Founder & Executive Chairman of Bitcoin.com), Ross Mason (Founder of MuleSoft, acquired by Salesforce), Marc Fleury (Founder & CEO of JBoss, acquired by Red Hat), John Pigott (Founder & CEO of ABE Exchange), and Eman Pulis (Founder & CEO of Malta Blockchain Summit).

A Non-Custodial Exchange Built for Mobile

Evercoin differentiates itself by offering a fully non-custodial experience. Users retain sole control of their private keys — the platform never sees or stores them, yet it provides a secure key recovery mechanism. The mobile app (available on both Android and iOS) supports trading and exchange of 15 popular cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ether (ETH), USD Coin (USDC), Litecoin (LTC), Ripple (XRP), Stellar (XLM), Cardano (ADA), Tron (TRX), Dash (DASH), Zcash (ZEC), Ethereum Classic (ETC), Bitcoin Gold (BTG), Qtum (QTUM), Decred (DCR), and Dogecoin (DOGE).

Fiat On-Ramp and Limit Orders

In addition to instant “market” exchanges, Evercoin offers non-custodial limit orders — users set a desired price, and the funds remain in their wallet until the market matches the order, giving them the convenience of a centralized exchange without giving up custody. The app also allows users to buy crypto with US dollars by linking a bank account, currently available in 10 U.S. states with a nationwide rollout planned.

Strategic Investors with Deep Ties to Open Source and Crypto

“We are proud to welcome a set of extremely strategic investors into our seed round,” said Talip Ozturk, founder and CEO of Evercoin. “These investors represent a tremendous range and depth of experience and deep networks in open source software, Bitcoin and regulatory issues for the cryptographic asset class.” Ozturk previously founded Hazelcast, a popular open source in-memory distributed database used by the world’s largest financial services firms.

Ray Zhang, Managing Director at gumi Cryptos Capital, added: “Evercoin is a beautifully designed consumer user experience that provides all of the benefits of popular services like Coinbase. What gets us excited is that it’s the strongest product in the market for delivering those features without compromising on user custody, the most important issue for cryptographic assets.”

About Evercoin

Based in Silicon Valley, Evercoin is the market-leading mobile-first noncustodial wallet and exchange service for fiat and cryptographic assets. Led by Talip Ozturk, the company combines open source philosophy with high-performance financial infrastructure to deliver a secure, self-custody solution for the next generation of digital asset investors.
