Staking provider Everstake has announced that it has obtained SOC 2 Type 1 certification, marking a new compliance milestone for its security and privacy controls. The independent audit was conducted by cybersecurity firm Prescient Security and is intended to confirm that Everstake’s systems meet enterprise-grade standards for both institutional and retail stakers.
Ethereum staking growth raises infrastructure demands
The certification comes at a time when Ethereum staking is expanding rapidly. According to the company’s cited figures, the amount of staked ETH climbed from 19.5 million ETH in January 2024 to 33.99 million ETH in January 2025, representing a 74% increase. Over the same period, the number of active validators rose from 913,008 to 1.05 million, a gain of about 16%. The trend points to rising dependence on staking platforms and a growing need for resilient, secure infrastructure.
Compliance seen as a bridge to broader adoption
Everstake said the SOC 2 attestation helps narrow the trust gap between blockchain-based services and traditional enterprises by demonstrating stronger safeguards against cyber threats. Chief Information Officer Denys Avierin said the certification reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to maintaining high security standards across operations, especially as demand for staking services continues to rise.
Everstake currently operates across more than 80 networks and serves over 735,000 delegators. Beyond the company itself, the certification underscores a broader industry shift toward stronger security, operational transparency, and compliance as staking becomes a more central part of the digital asset market.
