Exodus Movement, Inc. has announced a strategic partnership with Blockchain.com to integrate its Passkeys Wallet with Blockchain.com’s fiat on-ramp services. The collaboration aims to streamline the process of creating and funding cryptocurrency wallets, potentially expanding access to digital assets globally.
One-Click On-Ramp with Multi-Chain Support
Through the integration, Exodus Passkeys Wallet users can now purchase cryptocurrency directly within the wallet interface without needing to install browser extensions or navigate external platforms. The feature supports transactions in over 50 countries and a wide range of blockchain networks, including Bitcoin (BTC), Solana (SOL), and Ethereum (ETH). This move reduces friction for newcomers while providing existing users with a more seamless purchasing experience.
MPC Security for Safer Self-Custody
The partnership also emphasizes security through Multi-Party Computation (MPC) technology, which requires authentication before any wallet action can be executed. Exodus states that this measure aims to reduce drop-off rates in decentralized applications and broaden its user base by offering a familiar yet secure custody environment. MPC splits private keys into multiple fragments, ensuring that no single party has full control over user assets.
Industry Voices: Lowering Barriers to Entry
“Our partnership with Exodus makes it much easier for people to start using crypto,” said Peter Smith, CEO of Blockchain.com, in an official press release. “By combining our user-friendly buying and selling service with Exodus’ new Passkeys technology, we are setting a new standard. Our goal is to make cryptocurrency accessible and secure for everyone, and this partnership is a big step towards that.”
The integration is expected to roll out gradually to users worldwide. Analysts note that Exodus, a long-established self-custodial wallet provider, and Blockchain.com, a leading exchange and payment gateway, complement each other well. The move could accelerate the blending of centralized on-ramps with self-custody solutions, driving broader adoption of digital assets.
