Odaily reported comments from Kim Forrest, chief investment officer at Bokeh Capital Partners, who said she is not convinced the U.S. Federal Reserve will raise interest rates next week. Forrest said a decline in year-over-year hourly wage growth may point to a higher chance of a rate increase between now and the end of the year, but she does not believe that move will come at next week’s meeting. She also said the latest data was not enough to trigger panic selling by investors. Based on that view, Forrest expects stocks to post a positive day. She added that the move would be due in large part to what she described as an overreaction in the previous session’s negative market action.

Odaily reported that Kim Forrest, chief investment officer at Bokeh Capital Partners, said she is not convinced the Federal Reserve will raise rates next week.

Forrest said, "A decline in year-over-year hourly wage growth may point to a greater chance of a rate hike between now and the end of the year, but I still do not believe that will happen next week."

She added that the day’s data was not enough to send investors into a panic exit, and said she expects stocks to have a positive day.

In her view, that would be driven in large part by what she saw as an overreaction to the previous day’s negative move.
