Fidelity's global macro director Jurrien Timmer says Bitcoin briefly touched the Power Law support at $58,237, but a macro catalyst for a trend reversal has yet to emerge due to slowing liquidity and capital rotation into tech stocks.

Bitcoin dipped to $58,278 on July 1, just $41 away from the $58,237 Power Law support line tracked by Fidelity Investments' global macro director Jurrien Timmer. The next day, the price bounced to $61,865, a single-day gain of 6.15% — a recovery of $3,587 in under 24 hours.

The support line is derived from a long-term valuation model by astrophysicist Giovanni Santostasi, which projects Bitcoin's price trajectory based on the number of days since its genesis block in 2009. The model has explained roughly 96% of long-term price movement and has accurately marked cycle bottoms three times: the actual bottoms in 2015 ($230 vs. model's $252), 2018 ($3,204 vs. $2,521), and 2022 ($16,366 vs. $15,006).

$60,000: A Psychological and Technical Threshold

The $60,000 level serves as both a psychological barrier and a technical pivot. A break below it could destabilize market sentiment and trend structures. Bitcoin's quick bounce after touching the Power Law support suggests buyers stepped in at that level. Still, Timmer argues that technical support alone is insufficient for a trend reversal.

Two macro headwinds are at play: slowing global liquidity, which dampens risk-asset momentum, and capital rotation into tech stocks, where speculative money is currently flowing instead of Bitcoin. The speculative premium that once pushed Bitcoin to $120,000 has largely evaporated — the price is now down roughly 13% from a month ago ($71,123) and 43% from a year ago ($108,861).

Fed Policy Uncertainty Keeps Bitcoin in Range

Until the Federal Reserve's policy path becomes clearer, Bitcoin may remain range-bound even if the Power Law support holds. Timmer stated: "Bitcoin is approaching its Power Law support line, but I haven't seen the catalyst for a reversal yet."
