Finder, a major product comparison website, has released the results of its July 2021 survey on Dogecoin price predictions. A panel of 42 experts from finance, crypto, and academia was asked to forecast Dogecoin's value at the end of 2025 and 2030. According to the panel average, Dogecoin could hit $1.21 by 2025 and $3.60 by 2030. However, Finder noted that the average is skewed by one outlier, with the median prediction for 2025 being just $0.15, revealing deep division among experts.
Divergent Forecasts: From Zero to $50
The forecast ranges for December 2025 span from $0 to $10, with an average of $1.21. The highest prediction came from Paul Levy, senior lecturer at Brighton Business School, who placed DOGE at $10. By contrast, the median prediction was $0.15, and 30% of the panel sees Dogecoin worth $1 or more in 2025. For December 2030, predictions range from $0 to $50, averaging $3.60.
Pessimistic Voices: Musk Dependency and Bubble Concerns
Several experts expressed skepticism. Joseph Raczynski, technologist at Thomson Reuters, stated: 'Dogecoin will eventually go to $0. There are at least 100 to 200 other crypto projects that should be worth more than DOGE.' He marveled at the influence of a single celebrity. John Hawkins, senior lecturer at the University of Canberra, argued: 'Dogecoin seems largely dependent on Elon Musk’s erratic tweets. It is barely used as a payment instrument and has proved a very poor store of value.' He predicted only $0.15 by end of 2021.
Optimistic Outlook: Musk's Support Could Push it to $1
Roughly 15% of the panel (3 out of 20 who provided forecasts) believe Dogecoin could reach the elusive $1 mark. Ajay Shrestha, Ph.D. candidate at the University of Saskatchewan, stated: 'Only if Dogecoin receives continuous support from Elon Musk… Otherwise, it wouldn’t get such hype.' Julian Hosp, CEO of Cake Defi, also sees $1 as possible but warned: 'It will be a pump and dump.'
Finder also asked whether Dogecoin is a bubble: 80% of experts consider it a bubble, 10% disagree, and 10% are unsure. For end of 2021, the panel averaged a price of $0.42, nearly half its all-time high of $0.72 set in May 2021.
Context and Limitations
Dogecoin surged in early 2021 largely due to Elon Musk’s tweets, rising from $0.06 to over $0.72 in April–May. By the time of the survey, it traded near $0.20. Finder emphasized that the average figure is inflated by one extreme outlier (a $50 forecast for 2030), and the median provides a more representative view. Panelists included representatives from Galia Digital, Allnodes, Celsius Network, CoinGecko, Token Metrics, and multiple universities.
It is worth noting that this survey was conducted in July 2021, during a bull market. Actual Dogecoin prices have since declined significantly, falling well below even the median predictions.
