Finder, a major product comparison website, published the results of its July 2021 survey on Dogecoin price predictions. A panel of 42 experts provided forecasts for the meme cryptocurrency, with average estimates indicating a price of $1.21 by December 2025 and $3.60 by December 2030. However, Finder cautioned that the averages were skewed by extreme outliers, and expert opinions varied widely.

2025 Forecast: From Zero to Ten

For the end of 2025, predictions range from $0 to $10, with an average of $1.21. The highest forecast came from Paul Levy, a senior lecturer at Brighton Business School, who valued DOGE at $10. In contrast, the median prediction was only $0.15. Only 30% of the panel expected Dogecoin to reach or exceed $1 by 2025.

2030 Outlook: Extreme Outlier Lifts Average

The 2030 predictions span from $0 to a staggering $50, yielding an average of $3.60. Finder noted that one outlier significantly raised the average. Joseph Raczynski, a technologist at Thomson Reuters, expressed pessimism: "Dogecoin will eventually go to $0. There are at least 100 to 200 other crypto projects that should be worth more than DOGE." He attributed the coin's popularity solely to celebrity endorsement.

Majority View Dogecoin as a Bubble

80% of the panel labeled Dogecoin a bubble, while only 10% disagreed and the remaining 10% were unsure. Many experts emphasized Dogecoin's heavy dependence on Tesla CEO Elon Musk, known as the "Dogefather." John Hawkins, a senior lecturer at the University of Canberra, stated: "Dogecoin seems largely dependent on Elon Musk’s erratic tweets. It is barely used as a payment instrument and has proved a very poor store of value."

2021 Year-End Prediction: $0.42 on Average

For the end of 2021, the panel's average forecast is $0.42, roughly half of Dogecoin's all-time high of $0.72. Fifteen percent of experts (3 out of 20 who provided year-end predictions) believe the coin could hit $1, but only with continued support from Musk. Julian Hosp, CEO of Cake Defi, agreed on a $1 target but called it a "pump and dump" scenario.

The expert panel included representatives from Galia Digital, Allnodes, Wave Financial, Celsius Network, CoinGecko, Morgan Creek Digital, and several universities. Overall, the majority view Dogecoin's long-term prospects with skepticism, citing its reliance on hype and lack of fundamental utility.
