Finmo Tech, a Singapore-based fintech firm, won the biggest award at the AFA Awards 2026 grand final in Taipei on Sept. 1, taking the Grand Award for Cross-Border Fintech Unicorn Potential. The AFA Awards 2026 marked the first Asian fintech awards organized by the Asia FinTech Alliance.
At the center of Finmo’s offering is TreasuryOS, a treasury operating system built for modern businesses. The company says the product is designed to bring financial operations that are typically spread across multiple banks, accounting systems and enterprise resource planning platforms into one system.
TreasuryOS targets fragmented cross-border finance workflows
According to Finmo’s website and public materials cited in the report, the platform includes cross-border payments, multi-currency accounts, cash flow visualization, cash forecasting, FX hedging and working capital optimization. Its payment network reaches more than 180 countries.
Finmo has also recently introduced a conversational AI assistant called MO AI. The tool is aimed at chief financial officers and finance teams, helping with real-time cash management, forecasting, compliance and reporting. In its presentation at this year’s AFA Awards, Finmo used the title 「TreasuryOS for Modern Businesses」 to present its pitch around unlocking the full potential of cross-border finance.
Founded in 2021, licensed across several markets
Finmo was founded in 2021. In 2023, it obtained a Major Payment Institution, or MPI, license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, or MAS. The company currently holds related licenses in Singapore, Australia, the United States and New Zealand.
Funding reached about $27 million, with Series A closed in 2025
On fundraising, Finmo has raised about $27 million in total. That figure includes an oversubscribed $18.5 million Series A round completed in February 2025. The round was co-led by Quona Capital and PayPal Ventures, and Citi Ventures also participated.
For a startup founded in 2021, winning the top prize at the inaugural AFA Awards highlights the attention that cross-border treasury infrastructure is drawing from both fintech capital and traditional financial investors, as described in the source report.
