Flare has launched the first XRP spot market on Hyperliquid, starting with the FXRP/USDC pair. The move gives Hyperliquid its first spot-based XRP exposure and opens a new route for deeper onchain liquidity, tighter spreads, and execution aimed at larger trading flows.

The announcement was made by Flare on Jan. 7, 2026. The company said more stablecoin pairs are expected later. The listing is built on Flare’s FAssets system and LayerZero’s Omnichain Fungible Token standard, allowing FXRP to move across chains, trade through Hyperliquid’s onchain orderbook, and return to the XRP Ledger in a single onchain process.

First XRP spot exposure on Hyperliquid

According to Flare, this is the first XRP spot pair available on Hyperliquid. The company argued that Hyperliquid’s high-throughput onchain orderbook offers stronger price discovery and better trade execution than automated market maker pools, especially during heavy trading periods. In practical terms, FXRP is being placed into a venue designed for deeper liquidity and tighter spreads.

The listing also changes how XRP exposure can be managed onchain. Flare said traders can combine FXRP spot positions with perpetuals to hedge, run directional trades, or buy and sell XRP exposure across venues. That matters because XRP perpetual open interest already exists at scale, while spot venues built for matching those hedging needs have been limited. Now the spot side is in place.

Cross-chain movement without giving up custody

Flare said users in both ecosystems can access the added functionality without surrendering custody of their assets. FXRP can be bridged back to Flare for XRPFi activity such as lending, staking, and composable DeFi applications. It can also return to the XRP Ledger as XRP, with Flare describing XRPL as the canonical settlement layer.

This makes the launch more than a simple pair listing. It links cross-chain movement, orderbook-based spot trading, perpetual hedging, and settlement back to XRPL in one structure. Flare said the goal is to expand XRP’s multichain utility while keeping fully onchain custody and transparent settlement across the asset lifecycle.

Flare also said connecting FXRP to one of the faster-growing onchain trading venues strengthens XRP’s position as a global, permissionless, programmable financial asset. The confirmed takeaway is straightforward: Hyperliquid now has its first XRP spot market, and Flare has added a more complete route for XRP capital to move across chains and trading venues.
