The Flare XRPFi yield vault, integrated with the Xaman Wallet, has reached its capacity just days after launch, underscoring surging demand for XRP-based yield products. The vault, which enables XRP holders to earn yield through the tokenized asset FXRP, filled up with 25 million XRP (approximately $33.9 million) and offers a 3.4% APY.
Vault Saturation and Overwhelming Demand
Xaman founder Wietse Wind confirmed the rapid subscription and announced plans to expand capacity. Flare data indicates that over 5,400 XRP holders participated in the vault, with 98% actively using DeFi for the first time. “The response far exceeded expectations,” Wind said, highlighting the strong appetite for on-chain yield among XRP holders. The integration with Xaman's Flare Smart Accounts facilitated easy access to DeFi, driving swift deposits.
Newcomers Flood DeFi, Lowering Barriers
The majority of participants had never used decentralized finance protocols before. The simplified user experience, enabled by Flare Smart Accounts, allowed users to earn yield with a single click. Despite occasional calls to sell XRP, Wind emphasized the asset's long-term value, reflecting a broader shift from XRP as a cross-border payment tool to a yield-generating asset in DeFi.
Ecosystem Impact and Next Steps
The rapid fill-up validates XRP's potential in the DeFi space. FLR, FXRP, and XRP saw minor price fluctuations following the news. As capacity expansion plans move forward, XRPFi is poised to attract more traditional holders to on-chain wealth management, further expanding XRP's utility.
