Fractal Bitcoin said in its latest post that the network completed its first halving at block height 2,100,000, with proposal FIP-102 activated at the same time. The team said network nodes and indexing services remained stable after the halving.
Under FIP-102, FB distribution will expand beyond the Fractal network to the Bitcoin mainnet, opening a direct path for a broader group of Bitcoin users to obtain FB. After activation, the effective block reward on the Fractal side has been reduced to 6.25 FB, while another 6.25 FB issuance budget will be redirected to the Bitcoin mainnet.
The project said the change does not increase FB’s total supply. On the Fractal side, merged mining, permissionless mining, and index mining will continue to split block rewards on a 1:1:1 basis. Fractal Bitcoin added that the detailed distribution mechanism for the Bitcoin mainnet will be defined in a later proposal, FIP-103, with a target launch in the first quarter of 2027.
According to a recent post from Fractal Bitcoin, the network completed its first halving at block height 2,100,000, and proposal FIP-102 was activated at the same time.
In an official announcement, the project said network nodes and indexing services were operating smoothly after the halving.
FB distribution expands to the Bitcoin mainnet
With FIP-102 now live, FB distribution will extend from the Fractal network to the Bitcoin mainnet, giving a broader group of Bitcoin users a direct way to access FB.
After activation, the effective block reward on the Fractal side was reduced to 6.25 FB. Another 6.25 FB in issuance budget will be redirected to the Bitcoin mainnet.
Fractal Bitcoin said FIP-102 does not increase FB’s total supply. On the Fractal side, merged mining, permissionless mining, and index mining will still divide block rewards on a 1:1:1 basis.
Next step: FIP-103
The project said the detailed distribution mechanism for the Bitcoin mainnet will be clarified in FIP-103, which is targeted for launch in the first quarter of 2027.
