Market Impact: Notional Amplification vs Actual Buying Power
The U.S. pension market manages over $30 trillion in assets, so any Bitcoin allocation channel theoretically opens a floodgate. However, the actual incremental Bitcoin purchasing power from these ETFs is extremely low. Quarterly rebalancing involves only minor Bitcoin trades, and dividend reinvestment follows a slow cadence. More critically, the counter-cyclical selling pressure during bull runs could cap Bitcoin's upside: when Bitcoin outperforms other assets like the S&P 500, rebalancing demands selling Bitcoin, creating a price ceiling.
