FTX Trading Limited has announced a new long-term global partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB), designating the cryptocurrency exchange as the league's official cryptocurrency exchange brand. The deal aims to boost FTX's brand awareness and support MLB's innovation efforts.
Key Partnership Details
Under the agreement, the FTX.US logo will appear on umpire uniforms during the MLB All-Star Game in July. FTX has also secured a deal with MLB Players Inc., granting the exchange promotional channel access and rights to use MLB players in content creation. Sam Bankman-Fried, CEO and founder of FTX, stated: "It's an honor for FTX to be the first cryptocurrency exchange to be associated with the history and tradition of America's national pastime. FTX.COM and FTX.US are excited to enter this first-of-its-kind partnership with Major League Baseball."
MLB's Perspective on Crypto Adoption
MLB Chief Revenue Officer Noah Garden commented: "This is an incredibly exciting announcement for everyone in Major League Baseball as we partner with a global leader in the early stages of their unbelievable growth. FTX quickly cultivated itself into a worldwide leader in the ever-evolving cryptocurrency industry. Our fans have been early adopters in using new technologies to engage with our game."
FTX's Growing Sports Portfolio
The MLB deal follows FTX's naming rights agreement for the NBA's Miami Heat arena and a record $210 million naming partnership with esports organization TSM (now "TSM FTX") announced earlier in June. FTX also collaborated with Chess.com on the "FTX Crypto Cup" tournament. These moves highlight FTX's aggressive strategy to integrate cryptocurrency into mainstream sports and entertainment, positioning the exchange as a leading brand in the digital asset space.
