Galaxy head of research Alex Thorn said disclosures on Bitcoin ETF holdings through 13F filings are still at an early stage, with most large asset managers and registered investment advisers typically submitting their forms closer to the Nov. 16 deadline. Even so, some long-term capital has already added to Bitcoin ETF positions in the third quarter. Thorn pointed to an initial filing from wealth advisory firm SIGFIG Wealth Management, which showed its clients increased Bitcoin ETF holdings by about $73 million during the quarter. He also said a meaningful share of the assets managed by SIGFIG comes from retail client accounts at banks including Wells Fargo, Citizens, Santander and UBS. The update highlights that the current round of filings may not yet reflect the full picture of institutional Bitcoin ETF ownership.
