Gate said Lucas Sum has officially joined the company as Head of Market Development, Equities, a role focused on advancing the market development strategy for its global equities business.
According to the company, Sum will oversee commercial growth, ecosystem partnerships, market expansion and user growth. Gate said the appointment is intended to strengthen its business positioning across traditional finance, digital assets and global capital markets, while supporting the continued development of its multi-asset investment ecosystem.
Sum brings nearly 10 years of industry experience. His background spans multi-asset brokerage, wealth management, payments fintech and financial services.
Before joining Gate, he was deeply involved in the market buildout and business scaling of Longbridge Securities and Moomoo Singapore, under Futu Holdings, from the ground up. His work covered ecosystem partnerships, business model design, market strategy and user growth.
Sum said: "I am very pleased to join Gate. As traditional finance and digital assets increasingly converge, global investment markets are entering a new phase of opportunity. As global investors continue to show rising demand for equity investing and diversified asset allocation, I believe Gate will keep improving its global equities business and build a more open and convenient one-stop global investment experience. I look forward to working with partners and participants across the financial ecosystem to broaden investment access to global capital markets, continue driving the development of Gate’s equities business, and create long-term value for investors worldwide."
Gate said Sum’s arrival will help refine the development strategy for its global equities business, strengthen its partner ecosystem, accelerate market expansion and support the platform’s goal of building a one-stop multi-asset investment platform for global investors with broader portfolio allocation options.
