The Gensyn Foundation launched the public sale of its native $AI token on the Sonar platform on December 15, marking a major milestone ahead of its upcoming mainnet launch. The sale is backed by a16z, one of the most prominent venture firms in crypto and AI.

Sale Mechanics: English Auction with USDC/USDT

The sale offers 300 million $AI tokens, representing 3% of the total supply. The English auction format sets a valuation floor at $1 million FDV and a cap at $1 billion FDV, matching the valuation of the a16z-led funding round two months ago. Bidding is conducted on Ethereum mainnet using USDC or USDT, with a minimum bid of $100. Tokens will be claimable on the Gensyn Network (an L2).

Testnet Participant Multiplier

Verified testnet users get priority allocation plus a bonus token multiplier on their purchase amount, sourced from a 2% reward pool. The exact multiplier depends on each user's testnet engagement and bid size: higher participation and larger bids yield a higher multiplier, with the majority of the multiplier coming from testnet activity. The bonus tokens come at no extra cost.

Testnet Metrics: 2M+ Models, 165K Users

Gensyn's testnet has demonstrated rapid traction, with over 2 million AI models trained, more than 165,000 users, and 90 million transactions (575,000 per day). These figures underscore the network's readiness for mainnet.

$AI Token Utility

The $AI token powers the Gensyn mainnet, coordinating payments, staking, security, and governance. Anyone can contribute AI compute, training signals, models, or evaluation criteria; performance is priced transparently in real time. The combination of deterministic verification, open evaluation, and decentralized compute forms a market-driven system for continual learning, directed by true economic interest and supplied by anyone globally.

Ben Fielding, Co-Founder and CEO of Gensyn AI, commented: “We've had huge success testing our infrastructure and applications on testnet and we're ready to move to the next phase, operating with real value and game theoretic security on mainnet. Doing a public sale ahead of launch allows us to focus on fair distribution and prioritise community members who have supported the testnet and show conviction in our thesis.”
