Divisions over ethics provisions are still complicating the path forward for the Clarity Act in the U.S. Senate. A Fox Business crypto reporter said on X, citing reporting from Eleanor Mueller and Brendan Pedersen, that a growing number of Senate Democrats who had previously been open to backing the bill remain dissatisfied with the current state of its ethics language. The report points to unresolved concerns even after earlier momentum around the measure. Two Democrats, Ruben Gallego and Angela Alsobrooks, had supported Senate Banking Committee Republicans in May when the bill was moved out of committee, but neither has publicly stated a position now. At the time, the understanding was that stricter ethics provisions would be added before the bill reached a full Senate vote. Separately, Jasper Goodman reported that Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is encouraging colleagues to vote yes tomorrow so the Clarity Act can proceed to the full Senate floor for consideration and continued debate.
