Glassnode reported that the privacy sector is the only sector trading above its October 2025 highs, with a 213% year-to-date gain and a 90% surge in the past 30 days. Its market cap has grown from $7.1 billion to $33.6 billion, approaching Tron's market cap. Zcash (ZEC) led the rally, skyrocketing 2,496% and representing 62% of the sector's value. Even excluding ZEC, the sector gained 85% YTD. In contrast, Bitcoin remains 36% below its all-time high, and the top 200 assets have a median drawdown of 58%. Only 25 of the top 200 assets posted gains this year, with a median decline of 55%. However, the past 30 days saw 91.5% of assets rise, the broadest monthly rally on record, highlighting a stark divergence between the privacy sector and the broader market.

Glassnode, the blockchain analytics firm, said Bitcoin is trading 36% below its all-time high from October 2025, now 335 days after that top. The median drawdown across the top 200 crypto assets is 58%. Broad market slump. Pretty clear.

But the privacy sector is breaking from the pack. It is the only sector still trading above its October 2025 highs, with a year-to-date gain of 213% and a 30-day jump of 90%. Its market capitalization expanded from roughly $7.1 billion a year ago to around $33.6 billion, putting it close to Tron's market cap. And nearly half of that increase happened in just the past 30 days.

Zcash (ZEC) has done most of the heavy lifting, rocketing 2,496% year-to-date and moving from the 82nd-largest asset by market cap to the 7th. ZEC now makes up 62% of the privacy sector's total value. But even if you strip out ZEC, the sector is still up 85% year-to-date. So the strength is not coming from one token alone.

Elsewhere in the market, only 25 of the top 200 assets are up this year, while the median drop sits at 55%. Still, the last 30 days brought gains for 91.5% of assets, the broadest monthly rally ever recorded. So yes, there are signs of a market-wide rebound. Even so, most assets are still deep in the red for the year.
