ChainCatcher, citing Gate market data, reported that major global equity indexes mostly ended higher on Friday, July 31.
Asian markets closed in positive territory
China’s Shanghai Composite rose 27.57 points, or 0.72%, to close at 3,832.26. The Shenzhen Component added 293.13 points, up 2.21%, to 13,578.93, while the CSI 300 gained 38.48 points, or 0.85%, to 4,588.2.
The ChiNext Index climbed 99.35 points, or 3.06%, to 3,343.96, and the STAR 50 Index rose 47.55 points, or 2.99%, to 1,635.96. In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index added 25.55 points, up 0.1%, to 25,884.43, and the Hang Seng Tech Index rose 25.45 points, or 0.53%, to 4,829.22.
European indexes were mostly higher
Germany’s DAX30 rose 68.42 points, or 0.27%, to 25,642.92. The UK’s FTSE 100 fell 21.08 points, down 0.19%, to 10,876.19. France’s CAC40 gained 24 points, or 0.28%, to 8,509.64.
The Euro Stoxx 50 advanced 14.95 points, or 0.24%, to 6,359.35. Spain’s IBEX35 rose 15.58 points, or 0.08%, to 19,773.28, and Italy’s FTSE MIB added 52.62 points, up 0.1%, to 52,157.
US stocks all moved higher
In the US, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 277.45 points, or 0.53%, to 52,485.51. The S&P 500 gained 52.13 points, up 0.7%, to 7,489.76, and the Nasdaq Composite climbed 251.68 points, or 1%, to 25,373.85.
