GlobalWafers released self-reported financial data for August 2026 after recent moves in its share price and trading volume met the Taiwan OTC market’s attention threshold.

According to the company’s filing, consolidated revenue for August came in at NT$4.764 billion, up 7.63% from a year earlier. Pre-tax profit reached NT$785 million, up 85.06%, while net profit attributable to the parent was NT$704 million, up 144.98%. Earnings per share for the month were NT$1.47.
Profit growth outpaced revenue growth
While revenue posted single-digit growth, profit for the month more than doubled from a year earlier. The report attributed that gap to a shift in product mix toward advanced-process specifications and higher-value silicon wafers, which lifted both gross margin and operating margin.
Disclosure was triggered by market volatility
The report said GlobalWafers’ stock rose to NT$1,010 at one point during the GDR pricing period in late September, the highest level in nearly two weeks, as semiconductor supply-chain inventory adjustments eased and artificial intelligence demand supported wafer demand.
Because short-term price changes and trading volume expansion reached the OTC market’s monitoring standard, regulators required the company to disclose its monthly self-reported earnings data earlier than usual to improve market transparency and trading fairness.
$1.432 billion GDR priced on Sept. 22
Before the earnings disclosure, GlobalWafers completed the issuance of 50 million global depositary receipt units on Sept. 22. Each unit was priced at $28.64, equivalent to about NT$908.32 per common share.
That represented a 6.46% discount to the pricing-day closing price of NT$971. The deal drew about four times oversubscription from international institutional investors. The company said the U.S. dollar proceeds are planned for overseas procurement in local currencies and capital expenditures at subsidiaries, which would help reduce foreign-exchange hedging costs and borrowing interest burdens.
Funds are set to support localized global capacity buildout
GlobalWafers is pushing a strategy of local production and nearby supply. The report said its new plant in Texas has passed validation by major frontline semiconductor customers, and the company has used Long Term Agreements, or LTAs, to lock in follow-on capacity. The site is gradually entering a period of tangible capacity contribution.
