According to the latest market data from Gate, global markets are experiencing a broad decline, with precious metals and crude oil commodities falling simultaneously, while crypto volatility indices rose sharply. Gold dropped to $4,113.07 per ounce, down 1.92% on the day; silver fell to $61.953 per ounce, losing 4.5%. Both precious metals recorded significant single-day losses.
Precious Metals and Crude Oil Decline Together
In crude oil, WTI fell 1.5% to $73.71 per barrel, and Brent crude dropped 1.44% to $77.6 per barrel. International oil prices continued their recent weakness amid persistent concerns over demand outlook. In the forex market, the USD/CNH pair rose 0.22% to 6.79279, while USD/JPY edged down 0.01% to 161.48, showing relatively modest movement.
Crypto Market Fear Spreads as Volatility Indices Climb
In the crypto space, the BTC volatility index (BVIX) stood at 43.4, up 4.65% on the day; the ETH volatility index (EVIX) was at 57.1, up 1.96%. The simultaneous increase in volatility for the two largest cryptocurrencies reflects rising risk aversion and heightened short-term price fluctuation expectations among investors. Global equity indices also felt the pressure: the EURO STOXX 50 fell 0.51% to 6,231.94 points; the FTSE 100 dropped 0.04% to 10,406.1 points; and the DAX 40 declined 0.72% to 24,869 points. The multi-asset co-movement downward indicates a clear retreat in overall risk appetite.
