Google DeepMind on Sept. 2 introduced Gemini 3.8 Flash and a security-focused counterpart, Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber, according to Google’s official blog. The standard model is positioned for agentic tasks, software development and multi-step reasoning, while the Cyber version is built to detect and fix vulnerabilities using additional training data that includes security incident reports, vulnerability databases, malware traits and threat intelligence.
Google said Gemini 3.8 Flash scored 90.8% on Terminal-Bench 2.1, compared with 81.6% for Gemini 3.7 Flash. For the Cyber model, the company said its real-world vulnerability discovery rate exceeded 70%, and that it produced 2.6 times more correct fixes than a top competitor in Chrome vulnerability patching.
On pricing, Gemini 3.8 Flash will cost $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens through Dec. 31, 2026. Starting Jan. 1, 2027, those rates will rise to $1.5 for input and $7.5 for output. Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber is not publicly available and is being offered only to trusted defenders through the Fairwind program.

Cyber edition remains restricted
Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber is being made available only to trusted defenders through the Fairwind program and has not been released publicly. ABMedia said that approach follows a recent pattern among frontier models, where cybersecurity capabilities are tiered and access is gated.
