Grass Network officially announced on July 11 that Stage 2 airdrop claims will open on July 22, 2026, at 1:00 PM EST. Unlike the previous season, rewards will be distributed entirely in USDC stablecoin rather than GRASS tokens, a move the team says avoids new token emissions and allows users in more jurisdictions to participate without regulatory hurdles.
The drop covers Epochs 1 through 19 of Stage 2 — from October 14, 2024, to June 8, 2026. Anyone who earned more than zero Network Points during that window and is not in a restricted jurisdiction is eligible. The team stressed that holding GRASS tokens is irrelevant; only real network activity counts.
Reward Formula: Network Points and Uptime Points with Multipliers
Rewards come from two sources: Network Points, based on bandwidth routed through your node, and Uptime Points, based on uptime, connection quality, IP location, and referrals. Network Points draw from a daily 1M-point pool, valued at $0.0049 USDC per point. Desktop app users receive a 5x multiplier, Android users a 10x multiplier, while Chrome extension users earn the base rate.
Uptime Points are converted at $0.00000007 USDC per point, with a 2x bonus for desktop and 3x for Android. The network's busiest 150,000 nodes carried roughly 90% of total traffic. Residential (non-VPN) connections, stable uptime, updated apps, and high-demand geographies yield significantly higher payouts — two users with similar logged hours could receive very different amounts.
Claim Process: New In-App Non-Custodial Wallet
Users claim through a new non-custodial wallet built into the Dashboard, managed by Turnkey, with integrated MoonPay and Jupiter for off-ramping or swapping. The network does not custody funds or earn fees from third-party transactions. Each in-app transaction incurs a $0.15 Turnkey fee plus a variable Solana network fee; users can also export their private key to an external wallet.
Deadline: Six Months to Claim, Watch for Scams
The Grass airdrop Season 2 claim deadline is January 22, 2027. Unclaimed rewards after that date are retained. The team repeatedly warns that officials will never DM users or ask for seed phrases or private keys. All claims should go through the official dashboard at app.grass.io — phishing sites often spike during airdrop claim periods.
Business Metrics: $17M Revenue in H1 2026, Up 7x YoY
Grass also disclosed H1 2026 revenue of $17 million (up nearly sevenfold year-over-year), profitability on roughly $2-3 million in monthly costs, and projected full-year 2026 training-data revenue of $65-75 million. The team also plans to launch "Live Context Retrieval" products later this summer. As AI labs compete for fresh, ethically sourced web data, bandwidth-sharing networks are gaining traction, making participant rewards a growing trend to watch across decentralized infrastructure projects this cycle.
