Grass Foundation has activated the rewards checker for Stage 2 of its incentive program, letting users review estimated allocations in the Dashboard's Allocation tab. The checker covers Epochs 1 through 19, spanning October 14, 2024 to June 8, 2026. The update arrived before a scheduled July 7 at 1:00 PM EST holder call for GRASS token holders, which is set to stream on X and YouTube.
Stage 2 rewards will be paid in USDC
This distribution differs from earlier ones. Grass said Stage 2 rewards will not be paid in the native GRASS token and will instead be issued in USDC. The stated reason is continued regulatory uncertainty, along with an effort to make claiming easier for users across more jurisdictions. For node runners, that changes the reward profile: the payout is no longer tied to swings in the GRASS price between allocation and withdrawal, but it also removes direct token exposure.
Claim date, deadline and process
The checker is already available through Grass Dashboard → Allocation → Rewards Checker. Claims are scheduled to open on July 22 at 1:00 PM EST. Once the window opens, users must log into the Dashboard, review their allocation, confirm the claim, and the funds will be sent to their self-custodial in-app wallet. The deadline is January 22, 2027. Unclaimed rewards will be retained and will not be redistributed later.
Grass also said a small network fee will be deducted to cover on-chain delivery costs. According to the project, that fee is not kept by the platform.
Community response has turned mixed to negative
Reaction from users has been uneven, with many comments leaning negative. Several users said they had run nodes for a year or longer across multiple devices, only to see estimated payouts in the single-digit dollar range. That has triggered complaints that long-term contributors were undervalued, along with reports of users uninstalling the app. At the same time, the report points to a user base of more than 8.5 million.
Attention is also shifting to the next major distribution. The report says Grass Season 2 is expected in the second half of 2026, with roughly 170 million tokens planned. How users receive the Stage 2 USDC structure, and how they judge the current allocation sizes, could shape expectations for that larger token event.
July 7 holder call is the next focal point
The upcoming holder call is expected to cover the project's roadmap, financials, prior-year results, and network updates. Users can submit questions in advance through the registration page. The main issues under watch are the dispute over payout size and whether the calculation method for the roughly 170 million-token Season 2 pool will differ from the Stage 2 framework.
Grass has not published a confirmed listing date or a firm airdrop price in this update. It has also repeated a security warning during the rollout: the team will not message users first, will not ask for a seed phrase or private keys, and the only official page for checking rewards is app.grass.io/dashboard.
