Grayscale Investments, the world's largest crypto asset manager, announced Monday that it has updated its list of digital assets under consideration for 2022, adding 25 new assets to a list that now totals 43. The firm currently manages approximately $30.6 billion in net assets.
25 New Assets Added
According to the announcement, Amp (AMP) is the only digital asset added to Grayscale’s product family in this update. The 25 additional assets placed under consideration include: Algorand (ALGO), Arweave (AR), Axie Infinity (AXS), Bancor (BNT), BitTorrent (BTT), Bora (BORA), Convex (CVX), Cosmos (ATOM), Decred (DCR), Elrond (EGLD), Enjin (ENJ), Fantom (FTM), Gala (GALA), Gelato (GEL), Helium (HNT), Holo (HOT), Iota (IOTA), Oasis Network (ROSE), Secret (SCRT), Spell (SPELL), Stacks (STX), The Sandbox (SAND), Universal Market Access (UMA), VeChain (VET), and Yield Guild Games (YGG).
Complex Product Creation Process
Grayscale explained that the “Assets Under Consideration” list comprises digital assets not currently included in any Grayscale investment product but identified by the team as potential candidates for future offerings. The company emphasized: “The process of creating an investment product similar to the ones we already offer is a complex, multifaceted process. It requires significant review and consideration and is subject to our internal controls, custody arrangements, and regulatory considerations, among other things.”
The expansion comes during a period of market correction for cryptocurrencies, as Grayscale seeks to offer investors a broader range of compliant exposure. Industry analysts view the move as a strategic effort to attract institutional capital by diversifying the product pipeline and demonstrating continued commitment to the digital asset ecosystem.
With the inclusion of assets spanning DeFi, gaming, metaverse, layer-1 blockchains, and storage networks, Grayscale is positioning itself to capture demand across multiple verticals. The firm has long been a bellwether for institutional crypto adoption, and this list expansion signals confidence in the long-term viability of these digital assets despite short-term volatility.
