Griffin AI said it has entered a partnership with OpenAI and received a second usage milestone trophy from the company after processing more than 20 billion OpenAI model tokens. The firm said the figure refers to AI model tokens handled through OpenAI usage, not blockchain tokens.
Founder Oliver Feldmeier disclosed the milestone during a recent AMA on X. He said Griffin AI first received recognition after surpassing 10 billion tokens consumed on OpenAI’s platform, and was later awarded a second trophy after crossing another 10 billion tokens, pointing to faster platform adoption.
Prompt-driven agent activity rose 57% month over month
Griffin AI describes itself as an AI agent builder for DeFi. According to the company, prompt-driven activity that triggers Griffin AI agents increased by 57% month over month in recent months. The company linked that rise to heavier use of AI agents for crypto research, decision support, and workflow automation.
Feldmeier said that during sharp market turbulence and the bear market phase, the main signal is whether users keep using the product. He added that premium usage is paid in the native GAIN token, and argued that this demand comes from the practical utility of the agents rather than short-term market moves. In his description, the metric reflects users actively triggering prompts, running workflows, and using the platform at scale.
Most activity is still inside the platform
Griffin AI said a large share of current activity takes place within the platform before it becomes fully visible on-chain. The company views those engagement figures as an early sign of product-market fit for agent-led crypto experiences. The on-chain picture is still incomplete, but internal usage data is already showing direction.
For its next phase, Griffin AI said it wants to turn rising demand into measurable end-user utility through commercial-grade agents that operate across the web, social platforms, and crypto workflows. The company also said it runs a multi-model stack, using OpenAI together with other leading models and self-hosted deployments to support performance, resilience, and flexibility as usage grows.
Product lineup centers on execution and research agents
In its company description, Griffin AI said it enables users to create, deploy, and scale autonomous crypto-native agents for decentralized finance. Its flagship “Transaction Execution Agent” is designed to execute swaps, yield strategies, and cross-chain operations through natural language, while its research agents are aimed at helping investors find market insights.
