HashKey Exchange, the licensed trading platform under HashKey Holdings Limited (3887.HK), said it has entered into a partnership with global payment service provider Obita. Under the arrangement, HashKey Exchange will provide institutional-grade digital asset custody support for Obita Mesh, Obita’s global open payment network, within the scope of its licensed and permitted businesses. The custody offering for Obita’s corporate clients includes segregated asset custody and institutional insurance coverage. HashKey executives said the deal connects the exchange’s licensed custody capabilities with enterprise payment use cases, while Obita said compliant custody and fund security are basic requirements for businesses using digital assets in global operations. The announcement also links back to HashKey Capital’s participation in Obita’s multi-million-dollar angel round completed in 2025, with both sides describing the latest move as an extension from capital ties into financial infrastructure and enterprise applications.

Custody support includes segregated accounts and insurance coverage

Through the partnership, HashKey Exchange will offer institutional digital asset custody services to Obita’s corporate clients. The services include segregated asset custody and institutional insurance coverage, according to the company.

Ru Haiyang, CEO of the Exchange Business Group at HashKey, said the partnership combines HashKey Exchange’s licensed custody capabilities with Obita’s enterprise payment scenarios. He described it as a practical case of integrating digital asset infrastructure with real commercial payment activity. He added that as traditional payment institutions accelerate the adoption of blockchain technology, HashKey Exchange will continue expanding its integrated institutional services to support the implementation of its Asia connectivity strategy.

Zhang Dayong, co-founder and CEO of Obita, said fund security and compliant custody are basic requirements for enterprises adopting digital assets in global business operations. With support from HashKey Exchange’s established compliance infrastructure, Obita will provide safer and more unified payment and treasury services, he said, adding that the partnership will help strengthen Hong Kong’s role as an offshore global settlement center for companies expanding overseas.

Relationship moves from investment to operating infrastructure

HashKey Capital previously participated in Obita’s angel financing round in 2025, which the announcement described as worth tens of millions of dollars. With this business rollout, the connection between the two sides within the broader HashKey Group ecosystem has moved beyond capital and into financial infrastructure and enterprise application scenarios.
