According to Techub News, citing CryptoBriefing, HIVE Digital Technologies plans to convert its 32 megawatt Bitcoin mining facility in Boden, Sweden, into a Tier III AI data center. The company aims to deploy around 2,000 NVIDIA GPUs at the site and expects the converted facility to begin generating revenue within nine months.
HIVE Digital Technologies said the engineering and design work for the project is expected to be completed in late October 2025. The conversion is part of the company’s “dual-engine strategy,” under which it intends to keep its Bitcoin mining operations while expanding into AI business lines.
The company also stated that the Boden facility will use renewable energy and serve enterprise customers in the European Union. The plan places the existing mining infrastructure into a new AI data center role while preserving the company’s Bitcoin mining activity.
