The crypto market did not post a broad-based rally in the week from Aug. 2 to Aug. 9. Bitcoin dominance stayed above 56%, showing that capital was still concentrated in large-cap assets. Even so, some mid- and small-cap tokens on HTX moved on their own. According to platform data from HTX, the clearest cluster of gains came from the BSC meme sector, where TUT rose 733% over the week, while DeFi names kept the strength they had shown in recent weeks.

BSC meme tokens moved higher together
TUT, MUBARAK and TST were all issued on Four.meme, a meme token platform on BNB Chain. In the community, they have long been treated as part of the same sequence of assets, and their price action showed clear linkage last week.
- TUT (Tutorial) gained 733% on the week. TUT came from a token issuance tutorial demo. After the test token was brought onto mainnet, it gradually formed community consensus, and its price set a new all-time high last week.
- MUBARAK rose 72% on the week. Its name comes from the Arabic word for “blessed,” and the token is described as a BNB Chain meme asset with Middle Eastern cultural elements.
- TST advanced 41% on the week. Like TUT, TST also began as a test token and is one of the longer-standing assets in this group.
HTX noted that meme asset price swings are hard to predict, and the timing of gains and losses often has limited connection with project progress. Even so, the sector can still generate a strong money-making effect at certain stages. The platform also said pullbacks in the segment can come as quickly as the run-ups, and participants should fully understand the risks.
AI segment: SKYAI broke out after three months of consolidation
SKYAI climbed 291% for the week. SkyAI is a data infrastructure project on BNB Chain. Its MCP Hub acts as a routing layer that allows AI agents to call structured on-chain data across multiple Model Context Protocol servers.
The asset had been moving sideways since early May. Last week it broke upward, and discussion volume on social platforms also increased noticeably from August.

DeFi remained active, with BICO, BMT and BTW all posting gains
DeFi activity has lasted for several weeks. HTX said earlier strength in BANK, EUL and DIA had been driven by the rollout of institutional products and progress in the RWA narrative. The three better-performing DeFi names last week followed a different path. BICO and BMT both started their moves from the lowest price levels since listing, which HTX described as valuation repair after deep declines. BTW, by contrast, was supported by continued interest in the BTCFi theme.
- BICO (Biconomy) rose 240% on the week. Biconomy focuses on account abstraction and smart accounts. Together with the Ethereum Foundation, it introduced the ERC-8211 standard, which can combine multiple on-chain steps into a single transaction and support AI agents executing DeFi workflows.
- BMT (Bubblemaps) gained 110% on the week. Bubblemaps provides on-chain holding visualization, turning wallet relationships and token distribution into bubble charts. “Bubble map” has become a common industry term, and the tool had previously been integrated into the Binance Web3 Wallet.
- BTW (Bitway) climbed 153% on the week. Bitway is a Bitcoin-compatible PoS Layer 1 public chain. BTC holders can take part in financing, staking and lending without bridging assets and without giving up self-custody. This was BTW’s third straight week on the gainers list, after increases of 10% and 17% in the previous two weeks.
Quiet assets were repriced by the market
Several of the assets that made the list last week had gone through long periods of weakness before moving. SKYAI had traded sideways for three months. BICO and BMT had just hit their lowest prices since listing. TUT was only a tutorial demo test token before it became a hot asset. BTW accelerated last week after already rising for three consecutive weeks.
HTX said that in quieter market phases, attention and capital tend to contract toward leading assets, leaving mid- and small-cap tokens priced away from their actual level of activity for extended periods. When sentiment improves or a specific catalyst appears, those assets can reprice quickly and by a wide margin.
The platform added that an asset’s value cannot be judged only by current trading heat. HTX said it keeps a long-term approach in asset selection and maintenance so that projects at different stages of development can have a stable trading environment, while users can still find relevant targets when momentum begins.
